Welcome to

Empowering and supporting mums returning to work

I haven’t heard of you. Who are you?
Hi! I’m Ashlynn. I’m a career coach and working mum (also a proud millennial, Sydneysider, coffee-drinker, introvert, and theme park enthusiast) who is dedicated to empowering and supporting mums who are heading back to (paid!) work after taking a career break to raise a family.
“Being a mother isn’t a full-time job – it’s an unpaid internship. You're broke, you have no idea what you're doing, and your boss screams at you several times a day.”
I’m building a community of supportive, like-minded mums and I would love you to be part of it, so we can all raise each other up – because it takes a village, right?

Cool, that might be for me. More details, please?
“Motherhood hit me like a brick wall.”
In short, mothering is HARD (*understatement*). And no matter how many classes you took or how many books you read (or how many birth-related horror stories your friends told you!), no one is ever really ready for the journey that is parenthood. EVERY new mum feels like they hit a brick wall at some point. You are not alone.
Even worse, that feeling is often compounded when you add needing to find a job into the mix; suddenly, you are beset by mum guilt or separation anxiety, you experience overwhelm from the quadrupling of your ‘to-do’ list, and your confidence takes a dive as you think about how rusty your job skills are.
But raising kids is expensive. Hell, just living in Australia is expensive. And chances are, the decision to get a job and make some money doesn’t feel like a choice. And consequently, you don’t feel anywhere NEAR ready to head back to work.
Annnd… Mums2Work can help with that?
I certainly hope so. In this economy, NOT working isn't an option for many mothers. And you already have so much on your plate that making difficult decisions (full-time versus part-time work, childcare versus grandparent care, etc.) can be overwhelming.
“I wasn’t ready to go back to work, but we had bills to pay.”
Every mum may have a different reason for heading back to work, but many factors, like the timing, the separation from your little ones, financial stressors, and the bigger workload can feel like a constant STRUGGLE.
So, whether you've stepped back from your career for a period of several months or many years, I’m here to help you plan your return to work in a way that works WITH your messy mum life, not in spite of it, so you can re-enter the workforce faster and with more confidence than you thought possible. That way, you’ll have more time and energy to dedicate to the people and things you love. And isn’t that the point of it all?

Well, I do like the sound of that. But is this community really for me?
“I’m an island. I’ve tried other networking groups before, but they weren't quite hitting the mark.”
Does any of this sound familiar:
-
You feel frustrated, depressed, or GUILTY as hell (or all the above) about returning to work.
-
You’re FURIOUS at the myth that society pushes on mothers that we can have it all (the successful career, the Instagram-ready home, and the well-adjusted family) while YOUR skills are rusting, your home looks like a bomb hit, and your kids are refusing to toilet train.
-
You’re DREADING having to juggle a never-ending chore list, daily tantrums, and looking for a job all at the same time. In fact, you have no idea where to start.
-
You feel HELPLESS in the face of a job market that seems overcrowded and overly competitive, while wondering how to explain the gap in your resume or how to ask for flexible hours without making recruiters throw your resume in the ‘too hard’ basket.
-
You’re TERRIFIED that your skills (read: you) aren't good enough (or that no one will see and take a chance on you) for the type of job that you know you deserve.
-
You feel super ANXIOUS about stepping back into the workplace (including meeting deadlines again, making small talk with childless colleagues, and navigating your new boss’s expectations) while learning a new job.
If you answered, ‘Oh my god, YES!’ to any of the above, then this community may be exactly what you’re looking for – because a career break shouldn’t mean a broken career.
Mums2Work is about more than the occasional social post or piece of advice cluttering up your feed or inbox. It’s about building your CONFIDENCE, creating a supportive community that complements your existing support network, and helping to make your transition back to work as smooth as possible.
I’m vibing. But I need help asap, so what exactly are you offering?
An awesome Mums2Work membership. No bull. No fluff. Here’s what you get:
-
Entry to the next available session of the Mums2Work Flagship Program: a five-part program of online group coaching sessions, plus links to the recordings if you happen to miss anything.
-
Automatic signup to the Mums2Work Newsletter: an email sent regularly to your inbox for as long as you wish to receive them. However, I’ll only email you when I have something useful to say or something valuable to offer; no daily spam, vanity waffle, or AI slop here, thank you!
-
Lifetime access to the Mums2Work Resource Hub: an ever-expanding digital library of things I create exclusively for you, to help you on your back-2-work journey. Think: resume and conversation templates, workbooks for managing overwhelm, and handy checklists.
-
Lifetime access to the Mums2Work private Facebook group: this gets you direct access to me so you can ask all the burning questions that keep you up at night (no question is too silly or small!). You’ll also get to meet other like-minded mothers in the same boat as you, who can offer much-needed support and virtual hugs.
-
Sign-up BONUS (this won’t be around forever!): an expert, detailed critique of your current resume (or a resume you used in the past, even if it’s years old and you haven’t updated it in forever). Feels personal? That’s the idea! I will personally tell you what’s working, what’s missing, and how you can level up the most important document in your job search arsenal – because you only get ONE chance to make a first impression.

Wait, what’s in the coaching program thingy?
I’m so glad you asked! The Mums2Work Flagship program is basically ALL my expertise (I'm talking 8+ years of experience as a business owner, career coach, and resume writer, as well as my 8+ years of being a working mum) distilled into easily digestible one-hour weekly live sessions that take you step-by-step through your return2work journey. This is what we will cover together:
Session 1. An expectation RESET: We examine your new reality, what impact motherhood has had on you (from the late-night feeds and endless laundry right down to the physiological changes that occurred in your body – yes, ‘mum brain’ is real), and what that means for you going forward in your career. This is not a place for ‘should’ or shame, it is a chance to say thank you to the YOU that brought you to this moment and embrace the NEW you that will take you onward.
Session 2. A confidence REWIRING: We assess where you think you are in your career, where you want to be, and what it will take for you to get there. Whether you've been out of the workforce for 6 months or a decade, it's probably no surprise to you that most mothers take a confidence hit when they think about returning to work. This is your chance to rebuild that confidence (including learning my step-by-step negative thought rewiring process that WORKS) so that you can go after the career you know you deserve.
Session 3. A job search REALIGNMENT: We prep your documents before you begin your job search, from how to structure your resume and cover letters (and why you shouldn't get ChatGPT to write it for you), to crafting your LinkedIn page like a BOSS, to building your online portfolio and professional brand (so recruiters don’t stumble across that embarrassing social photo). This is the nuts and bolts of how you get the job you want, FASTER, and comes with all the gritty details you didn't even know you needed to know.
Session 4. A momentum REDESIGN: We build your job search STRATEGY, because the greatest cover letter in the world won't get you anywhere if you don't have a plan for how to get it in front of the right person. Think: small steps that snowball to create momentum (crucial for when you’re three months into the job search and feel like you’re just spinning wheels and going nowhere). This is much-needed STRUCTURE designed to tell you what to do each week and month of your job search, so you don't quit when the going gets tough. But what makes this plan different from all the others out there is that it’s built to work WITH your life and your specific schedule – because mum life is messy and different for all of us, right?
Session 5. Finally, a workforce REORIENTATION: We build a plan for what to do when you get your job, from organising your first day outfit (including having a backup for the inevitable child-related spillage as you head out the door), to knowing your legal rights, to planning your new morning routine (to get you and the kids ready for the day) – so you have more time to celebrate when that acceptance call finally comes through! BONUS: we’ll go over my Challenging Conversations templates, so you can talk to your new boss with confidence (from needing to have a private place to express milk for new mums, to discussing your flexibility preferences). We’ll plan everything well before your new start date, so you can turn up on DAY ONE feeling more confident and energised than you believed possible.
Wow, that’s a lot! So, when does the program start?
The doors for Session 1 of the program open on Thursday, 29th January 2026, 11 am Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST). The location is online, and an email link will be sent to participants before the session starts, along with any instructions for joining.

And now for the big question: how much are you charging for the membership?
Reminder: the Mums2Work membership includes all the offers outlined above (the 5-session Flagship Program, the newsletter, the resource hub, the private Facebook group, and the bonus resume critique), but not only that, you also get DIRECT access to me and my 8+ years of valued expertise in career coaching and 8+ years of life experience as a working mum. This means that not only do I know what I’m talking about in a professional sense, but I also GET YOU, because I’ve been exactly where you are now, I’ve felt all the feelings, and I’ve figured out what WORKS.
Final answer: the cost of the membership is $2,500 total (incl GST). This can be paid upfront in a single payment, or you can select to pay in instalments from the checkout page, if that works better for your budget (because I understand that kids are money-draining black holes!). But the glittering confidence you get from knowing exactly what you need to do and how to get there? That’s PRICELESS.
I genuinely want to help you land the job you DESERVE – without submitting dozens of applications every week or chasing uninterested recruiters who never call back. The question you need to ask yourself is, what will it cost you (in quality family time, in stressful emotions, in lost money from a directionless job search) if you DON’T invest in yourself?
I feel overwhelmed already! And I’m not returning to work for a while. What if I’m not ready to commit?
“I'm a different person post-parenthood. I’m less confident than when I was younger, even though I’m more experienced.”
That’s totally fine, I know it’s a lot to take in, and a big investment of your money, your time, and most importantly, your TRUST. If you need time to think it over, go ahead. If you want to chat and find out more, give me a shout, and we can see if we’re a good fit for each other. No strings, no pressure, and absolutely no hard feelings if you say, ‘Not now.’
And hey, if you're looking for a long-term, long-distance, low-commitment, casual reminder that this program exists, why not simply sign up for my newsletter, or follow me, and quietly lurk for a while until you feel ready to make a decision?

I don’t really know you – how can I be sure you’ll deliver what you’re promising?
I get it – there are lots of coaches on the internet these days, and you can probably ask Google’s AI or ChatGPT any questions you have about the job search, or get it to build a pretty good plan or write your resume for you for free, right? The DRAWBACK of that approach, apart from not knowing if the information you’re getting is correct or hallucinated, is that you also won’t know the other side of the equation: what are recruiters actually looking for? That’s where I come in, with real-world experience, professional and personal (no, really, I got an office job last February), and feedback from real clients of mine who got solid results from my coaching. But just so you understand where I’m coming from, here’s a little more about me:
My husband and I moved back to Sydney in 2017. We bought an apartment, started a family, and I began my resume and coaching business. We were on top of the world (we still are). But raising two young kids while living through a global pandemic and watching a giant AI tidal wave drown my struggling sales all meant that at the end of 2024, I needed to find a ‘real job’. There were bills to pay and hungry mouths to feed, and the ever-rising cost of living to combat.
I felt like a failure (and unrelated circumstances led to me losing half my support network), so for most of 2025, I couldn’t be emotionally (and often physically) present for my family. Fast forward to 2026, and I’ve happily settled into my ‘real job’, I’ve completely revamped my online business, and I schedule regular family time AND self-care time.
So, I’m here to tell you that I HEAR you. The struggle is real. And I’m sharing my story because I want you to know that the way forward is through. There IS a life after returning to work, and it can be fulfilling and still leave time for the important things (you and your family).
You can find out even more about me and why I started this business here.
Okay, you’ve sold me. Where do I sign up?
That’s so amazing, and I can’t tell you how happy I am to have you here! Click on the BUTTON below to head to the payment page – as soon as your payment goes through, you’re in! It’s that easy.
From there, expect a welcome email from me and get ready to plan your return to the workplace – I promise I’ll do everything I can to make the transition an easier one for you. You can also say hi to me on Facebook,
LinkedIn, or Instagram, and I’ll see you when the doors open for the next Mums2Work Flagship Program.

What if I have more questions?
I live for questions! Mums2Work is still in its infancy, and it’s currently in a developmental phase. This means that things are constantly changing WITH you, based on YOUR needs. If there is something you want or something that could be better, speak out! I want to get to know you. Contact me here and let’s start a conversation.
